This online course looks at the relationships between learning, teaching and assessment in Higher Education and at the design of appropriate assessment tasks. It is intended as an opportunity to meet new people interested in assessment in higher education and to share experiences and conventions from other institutions teaching at this level. You can participate without formal registration – it’s up to you how much or how little you do of the tasks, but do contribute to the discussion about assessment in HE in the Google+ community if you can. Every little post helps to get the community going. Tell us what you do in practice, be controversial, defend particular assessment strategies – all contributions are welcome! If you would like to host a webinar, or share some of your good practice, let us know.
Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) staff can gain credits towards a Post Graduate Certificate or Masters’ qualification in Academic Practice by completing an assignment linked to this course – please contact me for more details if you aren’t already registered. The course lasts for six weeks from Friday 16 May 2014 with a webinar at 12pm. The first topic is now available if you want to start reading and thinking.
